The story of the sea on the wrist

Wearing a watch with a coral dial is more than just a fashion statement – it is a journey through time that connects us with the beauty of the sea and the heritage of Venice, a city that has made coral one of its most prestigious symbols. With every glance at the wrist, one immerses in a story spanning centuries: from the depths of the ocean, where corals slowly form, to the skilled hands of artisans who transform them into masterpieces. The natural veins and hues adorning the coral surface tell of ancient traditions, maritime trade routes, and a culture that has long celebrated the harmony between nature and craftsmanship.
A special element that goes beyond precision

The Nereide Corallo runs with the Sellita SW200-1 caliber, a movement known for its reliability and accuracy. The specially designed rotor combines technical performance and visual elegance. It is skeletonized to show the movement and features a radial Geneva stripe pattern that gives it a refined texture and depth. The beveled openings really highlight the metal, while the 3N gold plating emphasizes the geometry and details – a tribute to the color that symbolizes our heritage.
The red that enchanted centuries

The trade in red coral flourished in the Mediterranean region since ancient times, and it was found along the coasts of Sardinia, Tunisia, and Spain. As a symbol of wealth and protection, it was crafted into jewelry and ornaments and highly valued at European courts for its vibrant color and distinctive grain. Each piece told a story of exchange and tradition, connecting distant cultures and countries.
Unique craftsmanship of Venezianico Nereide Corallo

We have developed a unique craftsmanship technique that sets us apart from the usual industry practices, which often favor uniform, monotonous dials. Our process begins with the careful assembly of coral fragments, skillfully arranged into a larger, cohesive block using a mosaic composition technique. This approach preserves the natural variety of the material and emphasizes the uniqueness of each individual piece. Then, the coral is precisely cut using a water jet technique, which maintains the integrity of the material and avoids cracks or imperfections. Finally, each dial undergoes an elaborate polishing process that gives it the refined, high-quality finish characteristic of fine coral jewelry.
Symbol of power and prosperity

The connection between Venice and coral is beautifully depicted in Giambattista Tiepolo's fresco "Neptune Gifts Venice the Treasures of the Sea," a tribute to the strength of the Serenissima. In the artwork, Neptune, the god of the sea, symbolically presents the city with coral, representing both the economic prosperity and naval power of the Republic of Venice. The fresco, which once adorned the walls of the Doge's Palace, is a testament to Venice's central role in the coral trade. In this rich historical context, the art of coral craftsmanship flourished and developed into a highly valued and refined tradition.

My personal view on the Venezianico Nereide Corallo - ORDER NOW
"Last year there was already an orange Nereid... Almost a year later, here comes another hit, this time with a bit more red tones, due to the red coral. WOW, what a dial. And each one is different. Really great. The Nereid itself no longer needs to prove itself, as it has already done so in numerous model variants. And the caliber remains the tried and tested Sellita SW 200. The first batch of over 500 pieces will probably sell out quickly, being fast will be worth it, otherwise you'll wait forever again..."
