Timeless Beauty: Small Seconds with Great Impact

The Granvelle captivates with its delicate, classic dial, interrupted by a subtly integrated small seconds at 9 o’clock. This subtle feature is a tribute to traditional watchmaking craft and gives the overall appearance a stylish vintage touch. The symmetrically appearing asymmetry not only adds visual depth but also enhances the readability in an elegant manner. Especially for lovers of thoughtful design and mechanical finesse, this reveals a true highlight.

The Dial as a Work of Art

The eye is inevitably drawn to the artfully guilloched dial, whose concentric pattern seems to come alive through light and movement. The dauphine-shaped hands glide with finely polished grace over this textured surface. The dial is framed by a finely satin-finished hour ring, whose recessed indices play with light and shadow through their engraving. This creates a graphic contrast that emphasizes the depth effect and gives the dial an almost museum-like aura – as if every second were consciously curated.

Slim Case, Precise Mechanics

Inside this elegant watch works an in-house micro-rotor calibre, which allows the case to be kept especially flat. Thanks to the compact construction and the integration of the rotor within the movement architecture, the Granvelle achieves a height of only 8.60 mm – without losing mechanical performance. With a 70-hour power reserve and 28,800 half oscillations per hour, the movement offers not only remarkable precision but also the highest everyday practicality in a slender design.

Architecture on the Wrist: The Case

The 39 mm cushion-shaped case is a tribute to the arches of the historic Granvelle Palace in Besançon – the cradle of French watchmaking. Made of vertically satin-finished 316L stainless steel with polished bevels and a fluted case edge, the case plays with light reflections and emphasizes its sophisticated silhouette. The signature crown with the traditional YEMA “Y” gives the case an additional authentic touch, referring to origin and care.

A Tribute to French Heritage

The Granvelle Palace, dating from the 16th century, stands not only architecturally at the center of Besançon but also symbolically for the close connection between cultural heritage and timekeeping. Today it houses the city’s watch museum, which tells the story of the region – from the arrival of Swiss watchmakers to the founding of chronometry laboratories and the watchmaking school. The Granvelle is therefore much more than just a watch: it is a bearer of history.

Style Meets Craftsmanship

Romain Pizzanelli, co-owner and bespoke tailoring consultant at Blandin & Delloye, perfectly embodies the intersection of fine tailoring and watchmaking. His sense for elegance and craft is also reflected in his philosophy: A watch is like a tailored suit – it must be worn to endure. This statement sums up the essence of the Granvelle: a stylish object with lasting value.

A Look into the Heart of the Watch

Through the sapphire glass case back, the decorated micro-rotor calibre CMM.20 is revealed. The rhodium-plated bridges are adorned with a sunray finish and create a fascinating play of light and movement through their galvanised surface. This play gives the movement a dynamic depth that goes far beyond mere technical fascination.

Wearing Comfort in Perfection

The watch is completed by a high-quality calfskin leather strap with fine beige stitching. The tapering shape ensures a balanced balance between elegance and comfort, while the stainless steel double folding clasp guarantees not only secure handling but also a harmonious overall appearance. Two different end pieces – Medium and Large – ensure the strap fits perfectly on the wrist.

FAQs

About David from WATCHDAVID

My name is David and I have been deeply involved with watches for many years – not only as a dealer but especially as a tester, photographer, and classifier.

Since 2018, I have been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project with reviews, videos, and genuine wearing experiences. Many of the watches you find here I have worn myself – often for extended periods.

WATCHDAVID.SHOP is deliberately kept personal. I only sell watches that I truly stand behind – no anonymous mass products, no dropshipping, no “quick trends.” Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are my priorities.

And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I like good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a noted weakness for Kinder Chocolate.

If you have questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I respond personally.

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.

The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Cancellation & Return Shipping

You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.

Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.

I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it can sometimes take a bit longer. As a rule, I respond within a few minutes or hours.

Something can slip past me sometimes too. Or the technology doesn't work as it should. Feel free to write to me again at david@watchdavid.com

Mechanics - Sometimes things can happen there too

Before I ship your order, I carefully check each watch for visible defects.

If a problem should occur, such as damage during transport, please inform me immediately. I will do everything possible to quickly find a solution and ensure that you are satisfied.

My goal is to offer you not only high-quality products but also a first-class shopping experience. I look forward to welcoming you as a satisfied customer!
