After the first Grands Fonds 300® was officially approved in 1960, the French Navy explained to the designers that the crown at 3 o'clock was a problem , as it is too vulnerable to manipulation underwater. She asked ZRC® to find a solution to protect the crown without hindering the movement of the wrist and, above all, to ensure that it cannot open underwater. The team got to work and developed the famous crown at 6 o'clock, which is connected to the case through an exclusive system made from a cut from a single block strong>Canon exists. This makes the Grands Fonds 300® the first and only watch to be equipped with a 100% monoblock case. In addition, the housing is made of a special molybdenum-reinforced steel, which is completely antimagnetic (an absolute necessity for the Mine Clearance Divers' Group).
