Hanhart PIONEER Mk I black
All about the Hanhart PIONEER Mk I black
Hanhart: pioneer of precision chronographs
Hanhart set standards early on in the field of highly functional precision chronographs. In 1938, the company developed the famous single-pusher chronograph for naval officers with the specially designed "Caliber 40". Just a year later, another milestone followed: the first pilot chronographs with the innovative "Caliber 41". This column-wheel movement offered a unique flyback function that allowed pilots to reset and instantly restart the chronograph with just the push of a button.
Renaissance of legends in the 1990s
In the 1990s, Hanhart brought his historical masterpieces back to life. The Swiss-German watch brand brought faithful replicas of the legendary chronographs onto the market, building on its long tradition and technical excellence. Hanhart caused a stir in particular in 2012 when the models Pioneer Mk I, Mk II and TachyTele were introduced with elegant, old white dials. These new editions have become classics that delight both collectors and watch lovers.
The one-pusher chronograph: Pioneer Mk I
The Pioneer Mk I is a homage to Hanhart's first precision chronograph from 1938. This extraordinary single-push chronograph is characterized by a special mechanism in which all functions – start, stop and zero setting – are operated using a single push button. Unlike models with two pushers, the chronograph second hand does not continue to run after stopping. The next press resets the pointer immediately to zero. For this special feature, the caliber used had to be slightly modified: The shift lever was adjusted so that the cam on the lowest level received an additional point. This means that the lever controls not just two, but three positions, which makes the one-push function possible.
Robust housing for maximum longevity
The Pioneer Mk I impresses with an extremely robust housing that is designed for longevity and suitability for everyday use. Like its historical predecessors, it is equipped with a closed, screwed case back. This construction guarantees watertightness up to 10 bar (approx. 100 meters) and at the same time offers optimal protection from external influences.

Timeless vintage look with high wearing comfort
The design of the Pioneer Mk I combines historical charm with modern comfort. Your calfskin strap is not only durable, but also comfortable and offers a pleasant feeling on the wrist from the first time you wear it. The typical Hanhart bracelet is complemented by stainless steel rivets, which underline the vintage character of the watch. A high-quality pin buckle ensures a secure fit, whether in the office or at leisure.
Perfect dimensions for everyday life
With a case diameter of 40 mm and a height of 15 mm, the Pioneer Mk I is both elegant and present on the wrist. The minimalist design with the modern Hanhart logo fits perfectly into the existing Pioneer collection. Thanks to its timeless look and proven Hanhart quality, it is the ideal companion for everyday use.
Conclusion: A watch for connoisseurs and collectors
The Pioneer Mk I combines the history of the Hanhart chronographs with the latest in watchmaking. It is not only a functional timepiece, but also a real collector's item that is reminiscent of the beginnings of pilot chronographs. With its combination of historical details, timeless design and technical precision, it makes a strong statement in the world of luxury watches.

FAQs
About me
My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.
Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.
As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.
So come along on a journey full of watches... off the mainstream... and if you have a question, please feel free to ask me anytime via the form, chat, WhatsApp, email or phone.
I am very much looking forward to meeting you.
PS: My hobbies & passions include the internet (first agency already in 1996), Denmark, France's coasts (Brittany, Normandy & Côte d’Azur), hiking, e-MTB, sales (Bachelor of Sales) and photography.
My Achilles' heel includes children's chocolate, good food, sneakers & of course watches... :-)
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.
The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Cancellation & Return Shipping
You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.
Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
