All about the Hanhart 417 ES 42mm

Timeless elegance meets modern technology

With the 415 ES, Hanhart brings a legend from the 1960s into the present. The model combines the classic design of its historical predecessor with innovative materials and current technology. This not only keeps the watch true to the brand's tradition but also meets today's demands for precision, robustness, and comfort. The reissue is a tribute to a classic that continues to live on in a new, modern form.

A glance into the past

The first 415 ES was introduced in the mid-1960s and offered in various versions. Two special features characterized its appearance at that time: the bidirectionally rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale and the stylized wing logo, with which Hanhart modernized its brand image. Over the years, different versions were created – some with Dauphine hands, others with straight hands reminiscent of the iconic 417 ES. The dial was also available in various color variants. For the reinterpretation, Hanhart opted for a design that stands out particularly due to its combination of tachymeter scale and distinctive red hundred scale.

Hanhart 415 ES Iconic

Tachymeter and hundred scale – functionality with tradition

The new model features a black dial with two sub-dials at 3 and 9 o'clock. The outer tachymeter scale allows for the measurement of speeds over a defined distance, thus providing a functional extension of the chronograph. The dial is complemented by a striking red hundred scale, which has a particularly practical application: In industry, time is often measured in industrial minutes, where one minute is divided into 100 units. This decimal system simplifies the calculation of work and production times – a function that is especially important in technical and industrial fields.

The wing logo – a piece of brand history

A special feature of the 415 ES is the historical wing logo that adorns the watch dial. This symbol was introduced in the 1960s to modernize Hanhart's public image. It had not been seen on any Hanhart wristwatch for over 40 years – until now. With this reissue, this distinctive detail returns and emphasizes the vintage charm of the timepiece.

A bridge between the past and the present

In the reissue of the 415 ES, Hanhart consciously opted for a historically authentic size of 39 mm in diameter. However, the original design was not simply copied, but brought up to date with modern materials and an updated movement. The watch thus embodies the spirit of the 1960s, while remaining a reliable and contemporary choice for lovers of mechanical chronographs.

Robust and reliable – day and night

The 415 ES impresses with a bi-directionally rotating ceramic bezel, which allows for precise adjustment through 60 precise clicks. Inside, the proven Sellita SW 510 M ensures reliable and accurate timekeeping. The case is not only shock-resistant but also anti-magnetic, providing additional protection against external influences. Another highlight is the Hanhart movement damping, which serves as additional shock protection and ensures the longevity of the movement. The manual-wind chronograph features two symmetric pushers that allow for intuitive and easy operation. Thanks to a water resistance of up to 10 Bar (100 m), the watch remains reliable even under demanding conditions. Even in poor lighting conditions, the luminescent material coated with Super-LumiNova® X1 guarantees optimal readability of the hands, indices, and numerals.

Excellent wearing comfort and versatile options

In keeping with the historical model, the 415 ES is delivered with a high-quality leather strap. The inside is lined with soft Alcantara to ensure maximum wearing comfort. Customers can choose from three stylish colors: classic black, deep dark brown, and warm light brown. The innovative quick-release mechanism allows for effortless strap changes without tools, enabling a personalized look for the watch.

With the new 415 ES, Hanhart once again proves that tradition and progress can harmoniously merge. The reissue of this classic remains true to the original aesthetics, yet combines it with the technical achievements of the present – a perfect synthesis of past and modernity.

About me

My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.

Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.

As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.

So come along on a journey full of watches... off the mainstream... and if you have a question, please feel free to ask me anytime via the form, chat, WhatsApp, email or phone.

I am very much looking forward to meeting you.

PS: My hobbies & passions include the internet (first agency already in 1996), Denmark, France's coasts (Brittany, Normandy & Côte d’Azur), hiking, e-MTB, sales (Bachelor of Sales) and photography.

My Achilles' heel includes children's chocolate, good food, sneakers & of course watches... :-)

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.

The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Cancellation & Return Shipping

You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.

Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
