All about the Hanhart PIONEER TachyTele old white

Hanhart: Pioneer in precision chronograph production

Hanhart set standards in the world of highly functional chronographs as early as the 1930s. In 1938, the company developed the single-pusher chronograph especially for naval officers, equipped with the self-developed Caliber 40. Just a year later, the first pilot chronographs were introduced with the Caliber 41, which was characterized by a column wheel movement with a Flyback function. In the 1990s, the Swiss-German watch brand decided to bring faithful replicas of these legendary models onto the market, successfully building on its long tradition and technological expertise.

Renaissance of the classics: The Pioneer series

In 2012, Hanhart presented a new edition of its popular models Pioneer Mk I, Mk II and TachyTele. This collection has been expanded to include elegant old white dials, which underlines the vintage character of the watches. The PIONEER TachyTele combines classic design elements with modern functions. It is not just a chronograph, but also has two striking red scales that are particularly easy to read on the old white dial.

Multifunctional dial: tachymeter and telemeter scale

One of the outstanding features of the PIONEER TachyTele is the integrated tachymeter scale, which runs spirally in the center of the dial. This design allows average speeds to be measured over three full revolutions of the stop hand. This means that the watch can also record comparatively slow speeds of 60 km/h up to 20 km/h. This is complemented by the Telemeter scale, which is located on the outer edge of the dial. This enables precise distance determination based on the speed of sound.

Robust design and classic comfort

The PIONEER TachyTele measures 40 mm in diameter and has a housing height of 15 mm. It comes with a closed, screwed stainless steel base that ensures water resistance of up to 10 bar. The durable calfskin strap with stainless steel rivets makes the watch comfortable to wear from day one. Alternatively, the watch is also available with a stainless steel bracelet. A high-quality pin buckle ensures a secure fit on the wrist.

Excellent readability day and night

To ensure optimal readability even in the dark, the hands and numbers are coated with Super-LumiNova®. This luminescent material ensures that the time can be easily read in all lighting conditions.

Iconic predecessors and models steeped in history

The roots of the PIONEER collection go back deep into Hanhart's history. The Caliber 42 model, a column wheel chronograph with flyback function and hand-wound, was developed in the 1950s. It served as the basis for the famous Hanhart Chronographs 417 and 417 ES, which were produced specifically for the Bundeswehr Air Force. These chronographs, often known as “Bundeswehr chronographs”, were produced in limited numbers: around 500 examples made of brass and 500 made of stainless steel, which makes them sought-after collector's items today.

A piece of military history for your wrist

Hanhart chronographs were not only popular in the Bundeswehr, but also served as aesthetic models for numerous military and pilot's watches from other well-known manufacturers. With the PIONEER TachyTele, Hanhart continues this tradition by combining the classic design with modern technical features. A perfect companion for lovers of vintage watches who also value maximum functionality.

This combination of historical precision and contemporary technology makes the Hanhart PIONEER TachyTele a watch that impresses in every respect. Whether in the cockpit, in the office or in your free time - this model is an expression of style, tradition and functionality.

FAQs

About me

My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.

Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.

As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.

So come along on a journey full of watches... off the mainstream... and if you have a question, please feel free to ask me anytime via the form, chat, WhatsApp, email or phone.

I am very much looking forward to meeting you.

PS: My hobbies & passions include the internet (first agency already in 1996), Denmark, France's coasts (Brittany, Normandy & Côte d’Azur), hiking, e-MTB, sales (Bachelor of Sales) and photography.

My Achilles' heel includes children's chocolate, good food, sneakers & of course watches... :-)

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.

The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Cancellation & Return Shipping

You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.

Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
