All about the Hanhart PRIMUS Pilot brown

PRIMUS Pilot: A Reinterpretation of Legendary Pilot Watches

The PRIMUS Pilot combines tradition and modernity, presenting itself as a contemporary homage to Hanhart's iconic pilot watches. Since 1939, the distinctive red pusher has shaped the brand's designs, serving as a reminiscence of the first pilot chronographs. Originally developed to prevent pilots from accidentally resetting the stop time, it underscores the connection between historical functionality and modern style.

Design with History and Precision

To meet the challenges of aviation, Hanhart's pilot watches were always designed for maximum usability. The large and grippy crown of the PRIMUS Pilot recalls the times when pilots operated their watches with gloves. The movement is based on a modified automatic caliber, specially developed for the arrangement of the totalizers at 3 and 9 o'clock. This configuration, typical of Hanhart from the beginning, offers a clear display of the small seconds at 9 o'clock and the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock. The skeletonized oscillating weight, adorned with the Hanhart logo, lends the movement an elegant technical touch.

Excellent Legibility

The Arabic dial design of the PRIMUS Pilot impresses with clear structures, continuous minute scaling, and distinctive hands. Both the numerals and the hands are coated with yellowish or black Super-LumiNova®, guaranteeing optimal legibility even in the dark. This thoughtful design ensures that the watch remains reliably legible even under difficult conditions.

Robust Case with Sporty Charm

The PRIMUS Pilot impresses with a solid stainless steel case, available in a matte or black DLC-coated finish. The combination of form and material conveys a sporty yet elegant impression. Flexible, screwed-down lugs ensure comfortable wear for various wrist sizes.

The screwed sapphire crystal case back reveals the fascinating inner workings of the watch, while the convex, anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the front provides a clear view of the dial.

Strap and Comfort

The strap of the PRIMUS Pilot underscores the watch's high-quality character. It is made of finest calf leather, durable canvas with a leather lining, or vulcanized rubber. A practical folding clasp, marked in red, facilitates handling and ensures a secure fit.

The Legendary Red Pusher

A unique element of the PRIMUS collection is the red reset pusher, which holds special historical significance. According to legend, a pilot's wife painted the pusher with red nail polish to remind him of her during the flight. Since then, the red pusher has been an unmistakable hallmark of Hanhart. It prevents pilots from accidentally resetting the stopped time, thus ensuring navigation.

Modern Technology Meets Tradition

The PRIMUS Pilot combines historical design features with state-of-the-art technology. The striking fluted bezel and the red comfort pusher made of anodized aluminum combine nostalgic elements with a contemporary approach. The movement is based on the reliable ETA 7750 or Sellita SW500, modified for the typical Hanhart dial layout.

Conclusion

The PRIMUS Pilot combines functionality, aesthetics, and craftsmanship in a watch that meets the highest demands. With its progressive design, robust construction, and historically rich symbolism, it is a companion for those seeking style and precision in a timepiece.

FAQs

About David from WATCHDAVID

My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.

Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.

WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.

And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.

If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.

You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Revocation & Return Shipping

You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the return shipping costs for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.

To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.

I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.

Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com
