Hanhart PRIMUS Racer – precision meets tradition

The PRIMUS Racer is a homage to Hanhart's long history as a leading manufacturer of hand stopwatches and underlines the company's expertise in the field of timekeeping. In the past, Hanhart timepieces were used in prestigious automobile races: race judges held their tablets in their left hand and operated Hanhart's three stopwatches with their right. Even today, vintage rally drivers rely on the incomparable precision and reliability of these watches.

Functionality and precision in focus

When developing the PRIMUS Racer, Hanhart attached great importance to functionality and ease of use. The watch was specifically designed for precise measurement of time intervals, split times and distances. It also impresses with its excellent readability when navigating on land, water or in the air. Unnecessary details or playful design elements were deliberately avoided to ensure a clear and tidy look. This maxim still shapes the design of the entire collection today.

Innovative movement

A modified automatic caliber works inside the PRIMUS Racer, which displays the totalizers at 3 and 9 o'clock. This arrangement, traditional for Hanhart, enables a clear overview: the small seconds is at 9 o'clock, the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock. The movement has a skeletonized oscillating weight with the Hanhart logo, which is visible through the screw-down sapphire crystal back, emphasizing the brand's technical expertise.

Perfect readability

The generously designed dial offers excellent readability. Polished Arabic numerals, indexes partly in red and a continuous minute scale ensure clear orientation. The hands coated with Super-LumiNova® also guarantee that the watch remains easy to read even in poor lighting conditions. This makes the PRIMUS Racer a reliable companion for all challenges.

Robust housing and sporty design

The solid housing made of high-quality stainless steel, optionally with black DLC coating, gives the PRIMUS Racer a sporty and modern appearance. The flexible, screwed lugs ensure optimal wearing comfort, regardless of the size of the wrist. The dial is available in classic black or elegant silver and is protected by a convex, anti-reflective sapphire crystal that minimizes reflections.

Elegant bracelets and well thought-out details

The PRIMUS Racer is complemented by contrasting stitched calfskin or robust rubber. The bracelet is not only durable, but also offers maximum comfort. A practical, easily adjustable folding clasp with the distinctive red marking completes the design and underlines the functionality of the watch.

Legendary red button

A distinctive feature of the PRIMUS collection is the red reset button. This iconic component has its roots in a touching story: a pilot once discovered that his wife had painted a pusher on his Hanhart watch with red nail polish to remind him of her. Since then, the red push button has become Hanhart's trademark, providing both a personal touch and practical functionality by preventing accidental resetting of the stop time.

Tradition and modern design combined

The PRIMUS Racer combines Hanhart's traditional history with progressive design and innovative technology. Historical elements, such as the red comfort push button made of anodized aluminum and the fluted bezel, are reminiscent of the brand's origins. At the same time, the chronographs impress with their modern size, grip and user-friendliness. A screw-down sapphire crystal back allows a view of the fascinating movement, which is based on the proven ETA7750 or Sellita SW500 base movement with Hanhart-specific modifications.
