The SuperCompressor Principle Explained
Let me get straight to the point: With the Rochelaise, Le Forban Sécurité Mer has for the first time designed a compressor diver's watch. This makes them one of the brands that are reviving SuperCompressor technology for the first time in about 50 years. In the early days of scuba diving, watches with a double compressor crown and compressor clasp were particularly sought after.

Also, because back then there were no other known ways to effectively seal cases. The legendary case manufacturer Ervin Piquerez elegantly solved the problem by incorporating a spring-loaded case back. Thanks to the spring, the diver's watch was already watertight even when the case back was not yet pressing against the O-ring. This only happened at high compression levels. The deeper you dived, the more watertight the watch became.

VERY EASY TO READ, EVEN AT NIGHT

Whether in daylight or at night, your watch remains legible through the use of Swiss Super-Luminova® C3, the brightest lume on the market. The luminous material is designed to remain legible in the deepest abyss and will also prove useful for night owls navigating through the shadows...

REFINED AND COMFORTABLE - Le Forban Sécurité Mer Rochelaise SuperCompressor Ocean Blue Steel Bracelet

With the aim of achieving an ideal combination of aesthetics and comfort, we have paid particular attention to the curves and finesse of the Rochelaise case. Due to its balanced proportions and low profile, the Rochelaise is a unisex watch that will look good on any wrist size, just like all watches in the Le Forban range.

GREAT ATTENTION TO DETAIL

We chose a very specific manufacturing technique for the internal bezel. The indices are pressed into the metal, the resulting depth thus offers a unique aesthetic - a technique borrowed from the 60s. The surfaces of the indices are polished to complete the aesthetic effect and maximize legibility. And as a final touch, the Rochelaise is equipped with a red second hand, a reminder of its diver's watch DNA.

ULTRA-RELIABLE MIYOTA AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT

The Miyota 9039 has been in production since 2018 and is a high-quality, Japanese automatic movement. Due to the thinness of this movement, the Rochelaise case has a particularly low profile - less than 12 mm.

Power reserve: 42 hours
Seconds stop when the crown is pulled out.

ASYMMETRICAL CROWNS AND EMBOSSED BACK

To highlight the back, we use the same embossing technique for all our watches. For the Rochelaise, we chose the motif of a marine rope as a tribute to the nearby Royal Ropemaking Factory of Rochefort. With its screw-down crown, the Rochelaise is designed to be water-resistant up to 150 meters. Its second crown, which rotates the inner bezel, has been intentionally placed in an asymmetrical position, adding an original yet vintage-inspired charm.

My conclusion:

David Drilling

"FINALLY in blue! The new Le Forban Sécurité Mer Rochelaise immediately captivated me. After extensive testing, this was more than confirmed. The Rochelaise is significantly more elaborate than the Malouine or Brestoise. Exemplary for the brand's increased ambition is the compressor technology, which has now been introduced and sets the Rochelaise apart from the crowded market of diver's watches."

FAQs

About David from WATCHDAVID

My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.

Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.

WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.

And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.

If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
