Origin and Concept
The newly reissued Steel Navigator is based on a military classic developed in 1986 in collaboration with Kelly Air Force Base; this watch embodies the spirit of that era and translates it into a modern, practical form. Anyone looking for a watch that not only breathes design history but also functions in an emergency will find a well-thought-out instrument here.
Case and Material Concept
The case combines a high-impact composite fiber shell with a robust construction that saves weight while providing shock resistance. In practice, you immediately feel it: this case is less an ornament than a protective shield — made to withstand adversity and securely house the mechanics.
Movement and Heart of the Watch
Inside, the high-torque Swiss quartz movement ETA F06.115 HeavyDrive operates, a caliber specifically designed for higher loads that reliably delivers torque to the hands. The choice of this movement is no coincidence: it stands for long-term stability, precision, and serviceability — qualities that count in field use.
Dial and Readability
The matte black dial displays hours in 1–12 and 13–24 formats and is designed for quick orientation; hour and minute hands and indices are equipped with self-luminous tritium tubes, which remain continuously readable regardless of external light. In situations where every second counts, this solution provides true reliability.
Glass, Crown, and Water Resistance
A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the display, the push crown sits securely on the side, and the construction offers water resistance up to 3 ATM/30 m — enough to easily withstand splashes or brief contact with water. This design makes the watch suitable for everyday use without losing its clear focus on robustness.
Dimensions and Wearing Comfort
With a compact diameter of 34 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 41 mm, and a height of 11.5 mm, the Steel Navigator positions itself as an unobtrusive tool watch that looks confident even on narrower wrists. The proportions are chosen so that the watch is present but never bulky — a plus for everyday life and use.
Straps and Customization
Durable options are available for different purposes: from the classic Marathon ballistic nylon strap to the robust DEFSTAN nylon, and a 316L stainless steel pin buckle. This allows the system to be quickly adapted to personal needs — whether in the field, on the go, or in the office.
Conclusion: consistently functional
The Steel Navigator Reissue is not a watch that ends up in a display case; it was built to be used. Its combination of Swiss HeavyDrive quartz, tritium-based readability, high-impact case, and practical strap options makes it a reliable companion for anyone looking for an honest tool watch without frills.

FAQs
About David from WATCHDAVID
My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.
Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.
WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.
And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.
If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.
You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Revocation & Return Shipping
You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the return shipping costs for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.
To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
No answer received?
You contacted me, via the contact form, about the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you didn't receive a reply?
Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and crazier and are sending more and more to spam.
I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.
Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com
Mechanics - Sometimes things can go wrong
Before I ship your order, I carefully inspect each watch for visible defects.
However, should a problem arise, such as a defect during transit, please inform me immediately. I will do everything in my power to find a quick solution and ensure your satisfaction.
My goal is to offer you not only high-quality products but also a first-class shopping experience. I look forward to welcoming you as a satisfied customer!
