All about the MARATHON 41mm Arctic Edition Large DIVER'S AUTOMATIC (GSAR) WW194006SS-0530
Icon of Rescue Operations
The Government Search and Rescue, or GSAR for short, is considered the most famous model within Marathon's SAR series and is highly regarded by both military units and watch collectors worldwide. Its robust construction, coupled with uncompromising functionality, makes it the first choice for demanding missions in extreme conditions.
Developed for Emergencies
The GSAR is designed to function reliably even under the most adverse circumstances. Its stainless steel case is made of durable 316L steel with a brushed finish and measures 41 mm in the standard version. For optimal control underwater, it is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale – ideal for precise dive times or time-critical rescue operations.
High-Level Mechanics
Inside, the proven Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement works, equipped with an Incabloc™ shock protection system. This high-quality movement has 26 jewels, which leads to very stable and durable performance. This is supported by a reliable date display, discreetly integrated into the dial.

Excellent Readability
The GSAR is designed to remain highly readable even in poor lighting conditions. This is ensured by luminous tritium gas tubes on all hour markers as well as on the hour and minute hands. Additionally, the bezel is equipped with a MaraGlo™ luminous dot, which allows for quick orientation in the dark – independently of external light sources.
Robustness Under All Conditions
An anti-reflective sapphire crystal reliably protects the dial from scratches and impacts, while the screwed-down crown ensures the watch's water resistance to a depth of 30 ATM (300 meters). This makes it suitable not only for diving but also meets the requirements of military special forces at sea.
Functional Carrying System
The scope of delivery includes a three-piece rubber strap set, produced in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Made from durable FKM rubber, it is designed for the high demands of military operations. Two buckle parts of different lengths allow for flexible adjustment to the wrist – regardless of whether the watch is worn directly on the skin or over a wetsuit.

FAQs
About David from WATCHDAVID
My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.
Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.
WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.
And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.
If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.
You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Revocation & Return Shipping
You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the return shipping costs for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.
To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
No answer received?
You contacted me, via the contact form, about the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you didn't receive a reply?
Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and crazier and are sending more and more to spam.
I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.
Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com
Mechanics - Sometimes things can go wrong
Before I ship your order, I carefully inspect each watch for visible defects.
However, should a problem arise, such as a defect during transit, please inform me immediately. I will do everything in my power to find a quick solution and ensure your satisfaction.
My goal is to offer you not only high-quality products but also a first-class shopping experience. I look forward to welcoming you as a satisfied customer!
