All about the MARATHON Blue Yonder SSNAV-D Steel Navigator Quartz WW194013SS

Origin and purpose

The GSAR, short for Government Search and Rescue, is the most traditional watch in its class and was developed from the start as a true mission instrument. Its DNA contains the demand for maximum reliability under extreme conditions; the design is therefore never fashionable but always functional and purpose-driven.

Mechanics with tradition

Inside works the proven mechanical automatic movement ETA Valjoux 7750, a caliber that has stood for decades in professional chronographs. With 25 jewels, Incabloc shock protection, and about 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers a solid technical foundation combining precision and robustness.

Power reserves and drive

Despite its chronograph complexity, the movement delivers up to 48 hours of power reserve, providing reliable autonomy in everyday use and missions. The direct, mechanical operation of the stopwatch functions also conveys an immediate sense of technology and control — something digital solutions do not equally offer.

Robustness and protection

The case made of brushed 316L stainless steel is deliberately designed for durability; a screw-down crown, a double-domed sapphire crystal, and water resistance up to 30 ATM / 300 m show: this watch is built to withstand, not to shine. The unidirectional bezel with 120 clicks features a MaraGlo-illuminated marker that provides immediate orientation during critical timing.

Readability around the clock

The GSAR thrives on its readability: indexes as well as hour, minute, and second hands are equipped with self-luminous tritium tubes and provide consistent brightness even in complete darkness. This is complemented by well-proportioned displays that make reading the time and stopwatch values intuitive.

Chronograph functions

As a chronograph, the watch offers all relevant tools: a small seconds at 9 o'clock, a 30-minute counter at 12 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, complemented by a day-date display at 3 o'clock. This classic layout is practical and allows simultaneous tracking of multiple time intervals without confusion.

Dimensions and presence

With a diameter of 46 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 55 mm, and a case height of 17.5 mm, the GSAR has an impressive presence on the wrist; it deliberately appears robust, with generous proportions benefiting readability and operability. The 22 mm lug width ensures a secure fit and harmonious appearance.

Wearing comfort and options

Despite its size, the watch remains wearable: those who want a sporty look choose the black Marathon rubber strap with a solid pin buckle made of 316L stainless steel; those who prefer more elegant robustness opt for the Marathon stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. Both variants are designed for durability and complement the GSAR as a true instrument for use.

Conclusion — tool with soul

The GSAR is not a statement watch, but a tool with character: mechanical substance, uncompromising legibility, and true diving capability make it the choice for professionals and those who seek a watch that remains reliable under pressure. Anyone who wants a watch to use, not to pamper, makes a very clear decision here.

FAQs

About me

My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.

Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.

As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.

So come along on a journey full of watches... off the mainstream... and if you have a question, please feel free to ask me anytime via the form, chat, WhatsApp, email or phone.

I am very much looking forward to meeting you.

PS: My hobbies & passions include the internet (first agency already in 1996), Denmark, France's coasts (Brittany, Normandy & Côte d’Azur), hiking, e-MTB, sales (Bachelor of Sales) and photography.

My Achilles' heel includes children's chocolate, good food, sneakers & of course watches... :-)

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.

The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Cancellation & Return Shipping

You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.

Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.

No response received?

You wrote to me via the contact form, through the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you haven't received a reply?

Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and pushing more and more into spam.

I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it can sometimes take a bit longer. As a rule, I respond within a few minutes or hours.

Something can slip past me sometimes too. Or the technology doesn't work as it should. Feel free to write to me again at david@watchdavid.com

Mechanics - Sometimes things can happen there too

Before I ship your order, I carefully check each watch for visible defects.

If a problem should occur, such as damage during transport, please inform me immediately. I will do everything possible to quickly find a solution and ensure that you are satisfied.

My goal is to offer you not only high-quality products but also a first-class shopping experience. I look forward to welcoming you as a satisfied customer!
