The Government Search and Rescue – or GSAR for short – is the most traditional model of Marathon's SAR series. It was specially developed for rescue and military operations and is known for both its technical precision and exceptional durability. In the most demanding environments, this watch proves itself as a reliable instrument – and is rightly considered the centerpiece of the entire SAR collection.
Swiss automatic meets military standards
The GSAR is powered by a mechanical automatic movement from Sellita, specifically the SW220 model. This Swiss movement impresses with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of up to 41 hours. Equipped with 26 synthetic jewels and protected by an Incabloc shock protection system, the movement remains reliable and precise even under shocks – a must for any true mission watch.
Robust case for extreme conditions
The case is made of brushed 316L stainless steel and designed for maximum durability. With a diameter of 46 mm, a height of 18 mm, and a length over the lugs of 55 mm, the watch sits powerfully on the wrist without sacrificing comfort. Thanks to its water resistance up to 30 ATM (300 meters), the GSAR is also suitable for professional diving use. The screw-down crown and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal emphasize the commitment to uncompromising functionality.
Visibility by day and night
The bezel is unidirectional and divided into 120 precise clicks. Its 60-minute scale ring is equipped with MaraGlo luminous material, ensuring easy readability even in darkness. On the deep black dial, self-illuminating tritium tubes on the hour markers and hands provide continuous visibility – without external light sources or prior charging. The practical day-date display at the 3 o'clock position completes the functional layout.
Versatility in the strap
The GSAR is available with various strap options that can be adapted to individual use. The classic black rubber strap with stainless steel clasp offers optimal wearing comfort in wet or hot environments, while the optional stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp is especially suitable for everyday wear or formal occasions. Both variants perfectly complement the overall design of this thoughtfully engineered mission watch.

About me
My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.
Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.
As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.

Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.
The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Cancellation & Return Shipping
You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
