All about the MARATHON Blue Yonder SSNAV-D Steel Navigator Quartz WW194013SS
A Legend of Deployment Time: The MARATHON Blue Yonder
With the Blue Yonder, Marathon presents a modern reinterpretation of a classic originally developed in close collaboration with Kelly Air Force Base in 1986. This revised version of the "Steel Navigator" remains true to its military roots, but relies on modern materials and technology to more than meet today's requirements. The model is not only a tool watch in the best sense, but also a piece of living history – robust, ready for deployment, and uncompromisingly functional.
Swiss Precision at its Heart
At its core is a precise quartz movement from ETA in Grenchen – the ETA F06.412, equipped with advanced HeavyDrive and PreciDrive technologies. These ensure exceptional rate stability, even under strong vibrations or sudden impacts. Energy is used efficiently, and deviation remains minimal – an essential feature for use in demanding conditions.
Robust Case for Every Mission
The case is made of high-quality 316L stainless steel, which has been additionally made corrosion-resistant through a process called Parkerizing, a phosphate conversion coating. The matte surface not only ensures reduced light reflection but also emphasizes the watch's tactical appearance. With water resistance up to 10 ATM (100 meters), the Blue Yonder remains a reliable companion even in water.
Optimal Readability Day and Night
The deep blue dial offers clear, high-contrast readability. In addition to the classic 12-hour display, a 24-hour scale is also integrated – perfect for military or international use. Particularly noteworthy is the use of tritium tubes for illumination: these ensure permanent readability without external light sources, whether during night flights or in use under difficult lighting conditions. The hour, minute, and second hands are also equipped with tritium, guaranteeing consistent, long-lasting luminescence.
Technical Equipment with Military Standards
The bezel is bi-directionally rotatable and finely graduated with 90 clicks. Together with the screw-down crown, it offers a high degree of functionality and security. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal effectively protects the dial from damage and contributes to the overall longevity of the watch.
Wearing Comfort and Versatility
With a diameter of 41 mm and a case height of only 11.5 mm, the Blue Yonder wears comfortably and compactly despite its robust construction. The lug width of 20 mm allows for quick changes between different strap variations – depending on the intended use or personal preference. Marathon offers a ballistic nylon strap, a DEFSTAN nylon strap, or a three-piece rubber strap kit, among others. The stainless steel pin buckle is also equipped with a black IP coating, rounding off the military-technical look.
Decades of Experience for the Highest Demands
Since 1941, Marathon has supplied Allied forces with reliable timekeeping instruments. The fourth generation of the founding family continues this tradition with a clear commitment to quality and precision. Each watch is manufactured with the utmost care and undergoes strict quality controls before it goes into service – whether in civilian everyday life or in military environments. Marathon stands not only for technical expertise but also for customer support that consistently reflects the high standards of the brand.
Conclusion: More Than a Watch
The Blue Yonder is therefore far more than just a timepiece – it is a tool, a symbol of reliability, and a true piece of ready-for-action watchmaking "Made in Switzerland."

FAQs
About David from WATCHDAVID
My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.
Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.
WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.
And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.
If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.
You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Revocation & Return Shipping
You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the return shipping costs for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.
To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
No answer received?
You contacted me, via the contact form, about the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you didn't receive a reply?
Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and crazier and are sending more and more to spam.
I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.
Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com
Mechanics - Sometimes things can go wrong
Before I ship your order, I carefully inspect each watch for visible defects.
However, should a problem arise, such as a defect during transit, please inform me immediately. I will do everything in my power to find a quick solution and ensure your satisfaction.
My goal is to offer you not only high-quality products but also a first-class shopping experience. I look forward to welcoming you as a satisfied customer!
