All about the Ollech & Wajs C-1000 Yellow Black RAF Strap
Return of a Pioneer
The C-1000 Yellow is more than a reissue: it reactivates a true chapter in dive watch history and brings the bold DNA of the 1960s back to the wrist. OW delved deep into the archives to reconstruct the striking, highly legible yellow variant of the historic Caribbean model, bringing back an iconic look once familiar to professional divers and military units.
Underwater Visibility
The luminous yellow dial is not merely a design gimmick, but a functional choice: in shallow zones, the color stands out; in greater depths, it tends towards a light grey hue, thus increasing the contrast with matte black hands and indices. Together with the oversized, triangular main markers, this creates a legibility that works reliably even in pitch-black depths.
Case and Proportions
The distinctive 39.5-millimeter case with its abbreviated lugs, affectionately called "Vampire Teeth" by collectors, remains true to the original but has been optimized for modern use: satin-finished surfaces meet polished chamfers, and the lug-to-lug length and construction ensure a secure fit on the wrist that makes the robust history palpable.
Technology, Chronometer Standards
Inside ticks OW's proprietary Soprod Newton Precision P092, a joint product with the Jura manufacturer, which in its regulated version possesses the necessary robustness — and is offered as a COSC-certified model upon request. This movement represents the combination of Swiss precision and everyday long-term reliability that professional users expect.

Diving Suitability and Protection
The C-1000 Y bears the technical signature of its name: pressure-tested to 1,000 meters, with a massive, domed sapphire and a screw-down crown, it remains true to its professional profile as a genuine work tool. This construction is not a stylistic exercise, but the consistent continuation of a concept that was considered pioneering back in the 60s.
Straps for Function and Style
Included is a robust RAF-style one-piece in black with an engraved OWZ buckle; optional straps are also available: the striking Cadmium Yellow Nylon-RAF, the fine-link M-Heritage Mesh, and the expedition-ready rubber with map and conversion scale. This allows the watch to be quickly adapted to its intended use or personal taste.
Workmanship and Details
The screwed-down case back proudly displays the historical wagon crest, deeply embossed and finely combined with polished and satin-finished surfaces — a small masterpiece of surface finishing. Such details demonstrate that the reissue aims to do justice to the heritage not only visually but also in manufacturing quality.

Cadmium Yellow Nylon RAF Strap
The distinctive cadmium yellow nylon RAF strap, which proved very popular with the 2024 Limited Edition C-1000 ANNIVERSARY Edition, is reminiscent of the yellow wetsuits worn by test divers Alberto Novelli and Cesare Olgjai of Ollech & Wajs.
M-Heritage Strap
A 20 mm wide, medium-strength stainless steel mesh strap, hand-brushed, with reinforced ends and a pin buckle with OW engraving. This comfortable strap not only emphasizes the vintage character but also gives the watch a touch of robust elegance.
"Expedition" Rubber Strap
This strap is a tribute to the explorers who tested the original OW Caribbean 1000 in the Red Sea and the North Atlantic under the frozen Arctic ice pack. A 20 mm wide, abrasion-resistant, deformation-resistant, heat and oil-resistant, non-toxic rubber strap. With embossed centimeter and inch scales and a cartographic scale of 1:25000. Morse code and conversion table for meters, yards, and feet. Manufactured by an Italian rubber specialist and hand-finished in Switzerland, with two brushed stainless steel holders and a pin buckle, signed "OWZ 1956."

FAQs
About David from WATCHDAVID
My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.
Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.
WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.
And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.
If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.
You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Revocation & Return Shipping
You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the return shipping costs for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.
To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
No answer received?
You contacted me, via the contact form, about the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you didn't receive a reply?
Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and crazier and are sending more and more to spam.
I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.
Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com
