All about the OLLECH & WAJS OW 56 M (LIMITED EDITION)

A journey of production that began decades ago culminates with the new - but not so new - Ollech & Wajs 56 M. Not just inspired by history, but a piece of history itself. A watch that combines vintage new-old stock parts with contemporary parts. Its 38mm case has been recycled from unused stock Ollech & Wajs acquired in the late 90s, but which had been produced some years earlier.

The estimated delivery time is approximately 3-4 weeks from the order date. Three-year warranty from the date of purchase.

OLLECH & WAJS OW 56 M (LIMITED EDITION)

The 56 M's classic case profile is a nod to late 1940s military pilot watches, and collectors of vintage OW watches will recognise it from historic models such as the Valjoux 7733 Flieger and the MP Series.

In keeping with OW’s long military heritage, Morse code in dots and dashes has been incorporated into the bezel and dial, combined with a blend of white and beige Super-LumiNova®.

The 56 M uses OW’s last remaining stock of ETA 2824 automatic movements, which have been fully serviced and reconditioned after many years in the vault. Other parts reused from historic OW stock include the traditional Plexiglass and the Admiralty Grey dial.

One detail that breaks with tradition is the words “Ollech & Wajs” printed on the dial. The 56 M is only the second watch in OW's 67-year history to bear the founders’ names on the dial. Our watches typically feature only the company’s initials, framed by the celebrated propeller monogram.

This deviation is to ensure the 56 M can be easily identified in years to come as a hybrid of vintage and new parts, and not confused with earlier OW models that share the same parts.

The OW 56 M is presented on a robust, heavy stainless steel mesh bracelet, with ‘OWZ 1956’ engraved on a pin buckle.

Given the limited availability of parts, the OW 56 M has been restricted to just 56 numbered pieces.

About David from WATCHDAVID

My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.

Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.

WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.

And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.

If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.

You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Revocation & Return Shipping

You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the return shipping costs for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.

To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
