Born 1973, reborn 2023 - OLLECH & WAJS OW 8001. Ollech & Wajs was among the first companies to launch sports models with integrated bracelets in the early 70s. Most notable was the OW Ref. 8000 - a sleek and angular chronograph with a TV-shaped dial and a stunning "Havana Fumé" dial.

To mark the 50th anniversary of this significant watch, we have developed a new model that embodies the character of the OW Ref. 8000 while being contemporary.
The OW 8001 features a brutalist case made of brushed stainless steel that seamlessly transitions into an integrated, brushed Oyster-style bracelet, designed for extreme durability and closely echoing the original.

For added comfort and stability, the milled bracelet is fitted with a robust, milled and engraved clasp that is extendable by up to 22 mm and features a double push-button release system, offering extra security against accidental opening. Unlike many so-called sports watches, the OW 8001 is actually built for sports.

It shares the streamlined features of its predecessor but has an unmistakably more robust, bulkier aesthetic. An uncompromising 316L stainless steel case with a round dial aperture, an extra-thick sapphire crystal, and a screw-down crown guarantee superior water resistance of 300m (30ATM).

The dial itself reprises the Havana Fumé finish, achieved through a double-lacquering technique, creating a captivating, radial gradient effect. What makes the OW 8001 a class apart among modern sports watches extends beyond its robust exterior. Inside the watch is a Soprod Newton Precision P092 – a custom-made automatic, date-only calendar movement with 23 jewels and a power reserve of 44 hours.

The Soprod Newton P092 movement is independently tested for reliability and durability at the internationally renowned Laboratoire Dubois in Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and is additionally awarded the Chronofiable® certification.

The OW 8001 represents a harmonious fusion of durability, utility, precision, comfort, and style, making it versatile enough to be worn with both a wetsuit and a linen suit.
