All about the OLLECH & WAJS OW C-1000 A COSC 60th Anniversary

A Legend Reinterpreted: The 60th Anniversary C-1000 A

In 1964, the Ollech & Wajs Precision Caribbean 1000 set new standards for dive watches, shaping the industry with a record-breaking, certified water resistance of 1,000 meters (3,300 feet). This pioneering achievement was primarily due to the innovative 702 monobloc case construction, which featured a distinctive design with its striking, tapered lugs.

Only 100 pieces of the limited C1000 A 60th Anniversary were produced. The first 56 pieces are numbered on the crown and are equipped with the ETA movement. All are sold out.

Pieces 57-100 are not numbered and are equipped with the Soprod movement. Only a handful are COSC certified and also have the COSC crown. And this is exactly the watch being sold here. The very last C1000 A, and COSC certified.

Comes with both straps. 3-year warranty.

The Caribbean 1000 was worn by commercial and military divers alike and tested by ocean explorers in extreme environments – from the depths of the Red Sea to the rough waters of the North Atlantic and the icy depths beneath the Arctic pack ice. To honor the 60th anniversary of this iconic watch, considered a milestone in the history of dive watches, Ollech & Wajs presents a special edition: the C-1000 A, a modern interpretation of the original design.

Historical Design with Modern Precision

The 60th Anniversary C-1000 A pays tribute to history by incorporating characteristic features of the original. The unmistakable, shortened triangular lugs, affectionately known as "vampire teeth" by collectors, are a central part of the design. The well-known, slim, tapered hour and minute hands, as well as the 12-hour bezel with a 20-minute dive scale, bring the legacy of the original Caribbean 1000 to life.

But while the design retains nostalgic elements, the new C-1000 A benefits from the technological advancements of recent decades. Thanks to modern materials and manufacturing techniques, it achieves the same impressive water resistance as its legendary predecessor – this time, however, with the comfort of a screw-down case back.

A Tribute to Perfection

The C-1000 A combines the best of two worlds: the timeless style and functionality of the original Caribbean 1000 with the advantages of modern watchmaking. It is not only a symbol of the evolution of the dive watch but also an expression of precision, robustness, and unmistakable design that delights collectors and adventurers alike.

This anniversary edition represents a worthy evolution of a classic that revolutionized the history of dive watches 60 years ago. With the C-1000 A, Ollech & Wajs continues this tradition – a tribute to the past, equipped for the challenges of the future.

About David from WATCHDAVID

My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.

Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.

WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.

And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.

If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.

You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Revocation & Return Shipping

You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the return shipping costs for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.

To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.

I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.

Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com

Mechanics - Sometimes things can go wrong
