All about the Ollech & Wajs OW 8001 TUNDRA COSC-Certified
The C-1000 FAGN: A watch for the highest demands
The C-1000 FAGN was developed by Ollech & Wajs specifically for the Air Force of the French National Gendarmerie. This elite unit, whose helicopter crews are on duty around the clock, faces extreme challenges: from rapid descents in emergency situations to military and police missions as well as rescue operations at sea and in the mountains – and this in all weather conditions, day and night.
Delivered with both bands. 3 years warranty.
Originally, this watch was exclusively intended for active and former members of the unit. However, thanks to the generous approval of the gendarmerie, a special version of this extraordinary watch is now also being made available to the public.
The Emergence of a Military Legend
In 2021, Ollech & Wajs was invited to submit a watch for evaluation by the Air Force of the National Gendarmerie. The requirements were enormous, as the watch had to withstand the extreme conditions and operations of the elite crews. A standard model of the C-1000 was then extensively tested for 18 months on the island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. During this time, the watch proved itself in a variety of real missions and surpassed other models from renowned Swiss and French manufacturers.
Due to its robust construction, exceptional water resistance, and the quality of its movement, the OW C-1000 was ultimately selected and adapted to the specific requirements of the FAGN. The diver's bezel was replaced with a custom-made 60-minute navigation bezel. Additionally, the watch received a lightweight, one-piece nylon strap in a distinctive blue, inspired by the iconic flight suits of the FAGN pilots. The design was completed with blue hands featuring Super-LumiNova® and the FAGN emblem on the dial.
A limited edition for the public
The version of the C-1000 FAGN that will be made available to the public remains true to its military origins but comes with some individual features. It will have its own 60-minute pilot watch bezel as well as a specially engraved case back that displays the official insignia of the regiment.

High-precision movement for maximum reliability
Inside the C-1000 FAGN beats the Soprod Newton Precision P092, an automatic movement known for its reliability and precision. This caliber, developed specifically for Ollech & Wajs, was refined over six months in collaboration with Soprod and precisely adjusted in five positions. In addition to its Chronofiable® certification, OW also offers a COSC-certified version of the movement as an option. The COSC certification is subject to the strictest testing criteria and guarantees the highest accuracy. A COSC-certified C-1000 FAGN model is additionally equipped with a specially engraved crown that highlights the chronometer status.
Built for extreme situations
The C-1000 FAGN is designed for durability and resilience. Its case made of brushed 316L stainless steel features a screwed crown and a 12-hour rotating bezel. The sapphire glass is anti-reflective, and the dial is highlighted by blue Super-LumiNova® hands and cream-colored Super-LumiNova® indices. With a water resistance of up to 1,000 meters, the watch is ready for any challenge.
The characteristic "FAGN Blue" nylon strap is one-piece, military robust, and is manufactured in the UK and hand-finished in Switzerland. Optionally, the popular M-Heritage steel bracelet can also be purchased to add an extra touch of elegance to the watch.
With the C-1000 FAGN, Ollech & Wajs is launching a watch that impresses not only with its military heritage but also with its technical perfection and exceptional durability.
