OLLECH & WAJS OW Rallychron
All about the OLLECH & WAJS OW Rallychron
The OLLECH & WAJS OW Rallychron is a love letter to the golden era of motorsports and the legendary racetracks that witnessed the most memorable moments in the history of the sport. One of the most important features of this era was the variety of circuits and the challenges they offered. From the fast and flowing circuits like Monza and Spa-Francorchamps to the narrow and winding roads of Monaco, each circuit required different skills from drivers and teams. The Rallychron's bezel depicts hypothetical historical "perfect lap times" for 11 of the world's most famous race tracks. It also has the characteristics of Ollech & Wajs' classic competition chronographs and rally timepieces from the 60s and 70s.
OLECH & WAJS OW Rallychron in detail
In collaboration with Hervé Charbonneaux - a classic car collector, rally driver, rally historian and author - Ollech & Wajs hypothesized perfect lap times for each circuit based on a number of criteria and variables. This included an in-depth analysis of the 1965-69 racing seasons, four years in which some of the most popular Ollech & Wajs racing chronographs were introduced.
Using Charbonneaux's extensive archives, the lap times and other data from selected Grand Prix cars of the period - including the Ferrari 312, Cooper Maserati, McLaren M4B - as well as the performance of various drivers were taken into account. This task was by no means easy as racing conditions varied greatly from competition to competition; even the track lengths, surfaces and configurations changed. The theoretical metrics engraved on the bezel will undoubtedly spark discussions among motorsport enthusiasts that will last well into the night.
The dial
The dial's grayscale scheme pays homage to the monochrome news photography that captured the racing action of the '60s and continues to inspire generations of racing fans. In contrast, the tips of the chronograph hand and 30-minute timer hand are finished with orange Super-LumiNova® to maximize legibility in dimly lit driving situations.
The housing
The Rallychron echoes the chronograph case heritage characteristic of OW's most iconic chronographs of the period, and its distinctive black and white checkered baton hands are a nod to the universally recognized racing flag. In addition to minute and hour timers, the watch features a tachymetric scale, a must for all racing chronographs, which is used at the trackside to measure speed and distance between competitors.
Under the hood of the Rallychron is a highly tuned and track-tested, custom-engraved automatic Valjoux 7753 – a descendant of the historic Valjoux 72 movement that powered the finest Swiss chronographs of the '60s and '70s, including several OWs. The movement is equipped with a rotor milled by OW. It is then regulated, adjusted and performance tested in five positions, qualifying it for the OW Precision Rating.

Two different bracelets OLLECH & WAJS OW Rallychron
The watch is presented on a handcrafted black perforated Italian-made racing leather strap, which is breathable and ensures comfort on the wrist for extended periods. Alternatively, there is the option of the stylish and heavy-duty M-Heritage stainless steel mesh bracelet of medium thickness, with OW engraving on the pin buckles of both versions.
Ollech & Wajs has decades of expertise in producing precision timepieces for motorsports - from Grand Prix competitions to long-distance endurance rallies. As automotive engineers and designers pushed the boundaries of what was possible on the racetrack and developed faster and more reliable racing cars, Swiss watchmakers like OW strived to create chronographs that could keep up with these advances.
The Rallychron honors this time of competitive spirit, in a watch that is a highly capable, robust track timer and more. It is certified waterproof to 300 m / 30 ATM, which not only surpasses any chronograph from the 1960s, but also puts it in a class of its own today.

FAQs
About me
My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.
Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.
As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.
So come along on a journey full of watches... off the mainstream... and if you have a question, please feel free to ask me anytime via the form, chat, WhatsApp, email or phone.
I am very much looking forward to meeting you.
PS: My hobbies & passions include the internet (first agency already in 1996), Denmark, France's coasts (Brittany, Normandy & Côte d’Azur), hiking, e-MTB, sales (Bachelor of Sales) and photography.
My Achilles' heel includes children's chocolate, good food, sneakers & of course watches... :-)
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.
The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Cancellation & Return Shipping
You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.
Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
