The return of the master – with new colors and character

In close collaboration with the Italian freediving champion Vincenzo Ferri, Squale expands its most important collection with two new models. The new editions of the Master series come with deeply textured dials in rich blue and bright turquoise – a tribute to the changing colors of the ocean. They are complemented by a newly developed rubber strap, which sets new accents not only technically but also aesthetically through its alligator embossing and the raised, dark gray stitching.

A watch born from fascination with the sea

"Language is not enough to describe the wonders of the sea – nor the hand to write them down." This quote, attributed to Christopher Columbus, captures the deep longing for the sea. The new Master collection from Squale, since 1959 the epitome of technical perfection among dive watches, is a direct response to this human fascination. It combines the highest engineering art with the feeling of boundless freedom – the element water is never just a backdrop but a deeply woven part of the identity of these watches.

Depth – then and now

Already in the 1960s, Squale set standards: The original Master cases withstood a pressure of 100 atmospheres – equivalent to a depth of 1,000 meters. Today, the revised Master version goes one step further: A 42 mm case made of Grade 5 titanium, a 4 mm thick sapphire crystal, and a helium valve ensure that this watch remains durable up to an incredible 1,200 meters depth. The result is a diving watch that knows no compromises, both technically and aesthetically.

New colors for new horizons

In addition to the classic version with a black dial, two new variants now appear: the Master Grand Bleu and the Master Grand Vert. Both models symbolically represent different phases of a freedive. The deep blue of the “Grand Bleu” captures the mysterious silence of the deep sea – that moment when the diver seeks the unknown. The turquoise of the “Grand Vert,” on the other hand, recalls the return to the surface when sun rays break through the water and the world takes on light again. Each shade tells its own story – of descent and ascent, of inner silence and triumphant return.

Vincenzo Ferri – master under pressure

As a long-time ambassador of the brand, Vincenzo Ferri wears these watches not only out of conviction – they accompany him on every dive. The multiple award-winning Italian is one of the most successful freedivers of his generation. With a depth of 104 meters in constant weight with bi-fins, he holds the Italian record. Whether in the Great Barrier Reef, the Gulf of Naples, or the crystal-clear waters of Sharm El Sheikh – Ferri always chooses places that challenge and inspire him. The impressive images showing him with the new Squale Master models were also taken during his training sessions in the Red Sea.

Structures that tell the story of the sea

The dials of the Grand Bleu and Grand Vert models are not only distinguished by their colors – their true special feature lies in the three-dimensional wave pattern that vividly mimics the movement of the sea. The applied hour indices are each color-coordinated with the dial and make the watch literally glow in its depth. Even in low light, these watches maintain their readability: The SuperLuminova coating is chosen to match the dial color, while the minute hand, seconds hand tip, and the triangle marker on the bezel are equipped with white SuperLuminova BGW9 – for maximum visibility underwater.

Ceramic meets color – the new bezel

The bezels of the two new models also rely on differentiated coloring: the Grand Bleu features a blue ceramic bezel with matching colored markers, while the Grand Vert combines a black ceramic inlay with turquoise numbers and indices. Both bezels are unidirectional, made of durable ceramic, and thus contribute to the high durability of the watch – even with repeated professional use in water.

A strap that takes new paths

One of the most exciting innovations of this Master generation is the high-quality rubber strap that combines the robustness of a diver's strap with the elegance of classic leather look. Made in Italy, with an embossed alligator pattern and accented by raised, dark gray decorative stitches, the strap harmoniously adapts to the wrist – stylish enough for everyday wear, durable enough for extreme situations. The titanium clasp emphasizes the thoughtful character of this unique strap.
