Transferring Sumi-e to a watch dial was a technical challenge: the delicacy of the ink structure and the natural irregularities of the paper are reproduced using precise, five-stage pad-printing, which applies ink layers with millimeter-accurate gradation. Layer by layer, a landscape is thus created, which, in its miniaturized form, loses none of the depth and differentiation of the original.

Case and dial meet in a conscious contrast: the satin-finished 316L stainless steel case provides a sober stage on which the delicate texture of the Washi comes into its own.
