Chronograph functions of the Venezianico Bucintoro 42 - 8221511

The Bucintoro has three displays for the chronograph functions. The chronograph second hand is suspended from the central shaft, which also allows the speed (on the kilometer scale) to be read via the tachymetric scale on the back wall. The 30-minute chronograph counter is located at 9 o'clock and contrasts with the continuous seconds counter at 3 o'clock. Finally, the third counter below shows the hours.

A new housing shape

With a diameter of 42 mm, the Bucintoro is characterized by a very slim housing with a thickness of 11.70 mm. Column wheel and vertical clutch

Systems with column wheel and vertical coupling are the most precise, but also solve the annoying phenomenon of the so-called "jumping hand" that occurs in systems that do not use them. The column wheel has a shape that is reminiscent of the top of a medieval crenellated wreath. To ensure smoother engagement and therefore a more pleasant user experience, each crank (i.e. each "column") must be reworked by hand to remove even the smallest machining residue.
