The watch is characterized by its finely engraved case, adorned with a Renaissance-inspired acanthus leaf pattern, thus paying homage to the timeless elegance of neoclassical art. The minimalist black dial, with polished indices, offers a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. The indices and hands coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® Black emit a subtle green glow, ensuring impeccable readability even in low-light conditions, while preserving the artistic and neoclassical character of this watch.

The design of the watch was inspired by Renaissance art. Our aesthetic research focused on the roots of classical and Renaissance art, which led us to choose acanthus leaves as the main motif for decorating the Nereide Acquaforte case. The acanthus, a symbol of beauty and harmony, was widely used in ancient Greece and later revived by the great masters of the Renaissance. We have carefully reinterpreted this element, creating a connection between tradition and modernity to create a timepiece with a refined and timeless design that reflects our passion for art and craftsmanship.

The watch uses the Acquaforte technique, an engraving technique that developed during the Renaissance and reached its peak in Italy thanks to masters like Giambattista Tiepolo. This technique allows for the creation of complex details and adds depth to surfaces. The process begins with applying a thin protective layer to the metal, into which the desired design is engraved. The plate is then submerged in an acid bath, which corrodes the exposed areas and deepens the engraving. After this step is completed, ink is manually applied to the engraved areas to enhance contrasts and give the design depth and relief.

Features of the Venezianico Nereide Acquaforte

In terms of technical details, the watch features a 316L stainless steel case with a diameter of 42 mm. The thickness is 11.9 mm and the lug-to-lug length is 49 mm. The watch's decorations consist of engravings filled with black ink. Inside, the Miyota 9039 caliber, an automatic movement, operates. The sapphire crystal is equipped with an anti-reflective coating to ensure a clear view of the dial. The watch is water-resistant to a depth of 200 meters and features a unidirectional rotating bezel with 120 clicks.

A special feature is the case back, which depicts the iconic image of the Lion of Saint Mark, the symbol of the Most Serene Republic of Venice. This winged lion, holding a book inscribed with "Pax Tibi Marce Evangelista Meus" (Peace be with you, Mark, my Evangelist), symbolizes strength and wisdom. For centuries, it has been the guardian of Venice's history and glory, appearing on coins, flags, and artworks, embodying the city's power and protection.

The leather strap, made from hand-aged leather, is produced by Tuscan artisans working in one of Italy's most renowned leather districts. The aging process is carried out with brushes to create subtle abrasions that give the leather a worn yet refined look. Each piece is handcrafted and develops a natural patina over time, further enhancing the watch's character. Even the finely engraved clasp reflects the decorative pattern of the case, creating aesthetic continuity that highlights the attention to detail.

The Venezianico Nereide Acquaforte and Super-LumiNova

The choice of Swiss Super-LumiNova® Black for this model was a conscious decision to balance functionality and aesthetics while preserving the artistic character of the Nereide Acquaforte. The black luminous material, applied for the first time to both the indices and hands, provides a subtle green glow in the dark, ensuring readability in all lighting conditions without compromising the minimalist and refined appearance of the dial.
