This Nereide takes its name from aventurine glass, a special glassmaking technique invented in Venice in the 17th century, characterized by needle-shaped metallic micro-inclusions that create a multitude of sparkling reflections reminiscent of the stars in the night sky.

It is said that the name "Aventurine" is derived from the term "adventure", indicating an uncertain and risky process. The Venetian glassmakers who first produced aventurine did so by chance, by pouring copper splinters into glass paste. The result they achieved led them to develop a proper procedure for the production and processing of this compound.

A constellation of tiny fragments of light stands out against the deep blue of the aventurine, recalling the dense mystery of the stars and the darkness of the universe. The rehaut completes the design of the dial, featuring a sunray texture that adds extra complexity to the whole.
