Venice is by nature a chimera. A city built on water – in a place where it shouldn't actually exist. It arose from the ability to connect seemingly incompatible elements and create structure, balance, and stability from them. Its symbol, the winged lion, also embodies this fusion of different elements.

The Nereide Chimera embraces precisely this principle. It stands for experimentation, transformation, and the harmonious combination of heterogeneous materials – realized in an edition limited to 500 pieces.

Iron Tiger – The Dial as a Living Structure

At the center of the design is the dial made of Iron Tiger, an extraordinary natural material created from the combination of tiger's eye, red jasper, and hematite. Three mineral components with different structures, colors, and properties merge to form a layered, unpredictable surface.

Intense red tones, dark veins, and metallic reflections are distributed differently in each piece. Each dial is unique – shaped solely by the natural composition of the material. It is this synthesis of different elements that gives the watch its name "Chimera."

Myth & Material – The Symbolism of the Chimera

In mythology, the chimera is not a chaotic creature, but a new, stable form, born from the union of different natures. Its strength lies not in its individual components, but in the balance between them.

Applied to this project, the chimera represents the ability to overcome boundaries and bring together materials that were not originally intended for each other. Thus, the dial becomes a metaphor for Venice itself – a city and a symbol that creates harmony from contrasts.

Craftsmanship Precision – Selection and Processing

The dials are crafted from carefully selected Iron Tiger plates. Each fragment is individually examined – with regard to color gradient, layering, and structural stability. Only pieces with balanced grain, contrast, and integrity are further processed.

The discs are reduced to a thickness of approximately 0.4 mm while maintaining structural stability. A controlled polishing process brings out the contrasts between ferrous-red and golden nuances before indexes and details are applied. The result is a surface with depth, dynamism, and natural tension.

Case & Construction – Sporty Elegance

The case is made of 316L stainless steel and measures 42 mm in diameter, with a lug-to-lug length of 49 mm and an overall height of 12.5 mm.

An anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial. The bezel features a tungsten insert that is polished and particularly scratch-resistant – with a hardness of 9 out of 10 on the Mohs scale.

With a water resistance of 20 ATM (200 meters / 656 ft), the Nereide Chimera remains a true sports watch that combines elegance and performance.

Mechanical Heart – Sellita SW200-1

The Nereide Chimera is powered by the Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. It is complemented by a specially developed, skeletonized rotor that combines functionality and aesthetic identity.

The rotor is decorated with radial Côtes de Genève, features beveled edges, and is galvanically treated with 3N rose gold. The movement is visible through the exhibition case back, highlighting the mechanical substance of this timepiece.

BGW9 Super-LumiNova® from Switzerland ensures optimal readability in the dark.

Limited Edition & Packaging

The Nereide Chimera is released in a limited edition of 500 pieces.

The packaging also takes up the concept: it picks up the intense red of the Iron Tiger stone and graphically refers to the connection between the Lion of St. Mark and the dial material. The box thus becomes part of the product's identity and consistently continues the theme of the chimera as a fusion of different elements.

New FKM Strap – Technical Performance

A new FKM rubber strap has been developed for this edition. This high-performance material stands for resistance, stability, and lasting wearing comfort. The dark red color picks up the dominant nuances of the dial and packaging and completes the continuous color identity of the project.
