Avventurina is a precious glass material discovered in the 17th century by the Murano artists in Venice. It is famous for its star-like shimmer, created by the incorporation of small copper flakes during the manufacturing process.

About Aventurine

Aventurine is a valuable blue glass enriched with copper inclusions that give it a distinctive glitter effect. Its origins date back to the early 17th century and are attributed to Venetian glassmakers. Today, this material is mainly used for the production of art objects and is valued for its unique light reflection.

Minimalist and elegant

Thanks to its brilliance and the sparkling effects of the copper inclusions, the aventurine dial harmonizes perfectly with the neoclassical Redentore design, inspired by Palladian architecture. Known for its beauty, this material conveys a sense of tradition and historicity that perfectly matches the timeless design of this watch.

The History of Aventurine

It is said that the name "Aventurine" was derived in the 17th century from the term "avventura," referring to an uncertain and risky undertaking. The Venetian glassmakers, who were the first to produce Aventurine, did so by accident, by pouring copper flakes into a blue glass mass. From 1644, the manufacturing technique was codified, and Venetian Aventurine artifacts soon became among the most highly prized of their time. The lithograph shows a visit by the Doge to the workshops on the island of Murano, the manufacturing area of this glass.

Venetian Stardust

The deep blue of the aventurine, upon which a constellation of tiny fragments of light rests, evokes the dense mystery of the stars and the darkness of the cosmos. The dial features a sunray brush texture, which adds even more complexity to the whole.

Versatile Design

The secret of the Redentore Avventurina lies in its great versatility. The aventurine used for the dial attracts attention, while the high resistance of the materials, such as the 316L stainless steel used for the bezel and the sapphire crystal, make this timepiece perfect for everyday use.

The manufacturing process

Aventurine is a difficult material to tame, precisely because of the copper flakes introduced into the molten glass, which arrange themselves evenly during the slow cooling process. To produce components with a high degree of precision, aventurine is ground cold like a hardstone. Today, the production of this material is still very limited, precisely because of its complexity and the extensive know-how required.

The case back

We have crafted a six-screw case back that highlights the geometry of the shapes and keeps the central engraving in place. The outer band of the case back displays the basic technical features of the watch and the serial number at 4 o'clock.
