All about the Venezianico Redentore Historia Temporis - 1221520

All about the Venezianico Historia Temporis - 1221520, which impresses with its gray dial.

The Redentore Historia Temporis embodies a unique connection to the rich history of Venice. Inspired by the ancient coin commissioned by Doge Marcantonio Giustinian in the late 17th century, this watch features a dial produced with an embossing technique and then aged through a meticulous artisanal process. The strap made of restored, antique leather with natural additives also contributes to this narrative.

The Charm of Coinage

To produce the dial, we digitized a 17th-century coin and transferred its shape to a matrix made of hardened steel. From this, brass blanks are produced using the embossing technique. After removing metal residues, the aging phase follows by applying mineral oils. This elaborate artisanal process mimics the aging of ancient coins, giving Redentore Historia Temporis a pleasing and desirable appearance.

Inspiration

The unique dial of the Redentore Historia Temporis is inspired by an ancient Venetian coin minted between 1684 and 1688, known as an "Osella". This name derives from the dialectal term for female ducks, which were known for their delicate taste and were part of a traditional annual gift from the Doge of Venice. Later, as game became increasingly difficult to obtain, "Oselle" coins were minted to preserve the original meaning of this gesture.

Doge Marcantonio Giustinian

Marcantonio Giustinian, the 107th Doge of Venice from 1684 to 1688, is known for his decisive action against a plague epidemic and his advocacy for health and quarantine measures. He was also a patron of the arts and contributed to the cultural heritage of Venice. During his tenure as Doge, he minted the "Osella" with the motif of St. Mark's Square, the coin that inspired the Redentore Historia Temporis and honors this important part of Venetian history.

The Significance of the Coin

The reverse side provides information about the coin's origin and its symbolism. At the top, an imposing angel is visible, conveying a touch of majesty as the protector of the Most Serene Republic of Venice. In the background, the famous St. Mark's Square is depicted, where a galleon, the symbol of the typical lagoon boat, completes the captivating image, intertwining history and symbolism in a compelling visual narrative.

About David from WATCHDAVID

My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.

Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.

WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.

And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.

If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.

Shipping & Insurance

Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.

You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...

Revocation & Return Shipping

You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.

I will cover the return shipping costs for you.

IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

Authenticity & Condition of the Watches

I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).

As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...

Warranty & Service

All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.

Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.

Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
