Even if the watches seem out of time due to their nostalgic and eccentric appearance and their exclusive handcrafted production (naturally intended): inside, apart from the vintage movements, high-tech is installed. Anyone who thinks that a small Thuringian manufacture cannot keep up with global brands in terms of progress is mistaken. In recent years, VDB has attracted attention through several innovations. The Erfurt-based manufacture invented a special crown protection mechanism. In addition, the watch achieves water resistance of up to 500 meters.
The movement of the Vintage VDB D22 Pepsi GMT Bronze
Even if VDB uses modern technologies in its watches, it relies on nostalgic unique pieces for the movements. Each movement has its own past and is brought back to life in VDB watches. The D22 uses Swiss ETA 2824-2 movements with automatic winding, which are known for their durability and good quality.
The case
The case is made of stainless steel, is 47 millimeters wide, 52 millimeters long and an incredible 19 millimeters high! But don't worry, the dimensions of the watch never seem too oversized.
The dial
The dial at VDB is characteristic in that it displays only the most important functions in a plain and easy-to-read manner. The elegant black is, in my opinion, exactly the right color and perfectly matches the design of the bezel and my strap. Overall, the dial has a maritime look and is vaguely reminiscent of a historical measuring instrument.

"VDB hat keine leeren Versprechen gegeben. Diese Uhr erfüllt all meine Erwartungen, die ich im Vorfeld an sie hatte und übertrifft diese oft sogar. Die Thüringer Manufaktur hat ein Konzept auf den Markt gebracht, das vorher fehlte: handgemachte Herrenuhren, die anders sind, die auffallen wollen. Robust, mit Ecken und Kanten und nicht weichgespült. Sportlich, sehr edel und qualitativ auf höchstem Niveau. Mit dieser Idee treffen Stephan Obst und seine Mitarbeiter voll in Schwarze. Und das nicht nur bei exzentrischen Superstars wie Rammstein oder Kiss, sondern bei jedem, der etwas Besonderes sein und nicht die 08/15 Uhr von der Stange haben möchte. My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.
Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.
WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.
And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.

Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.
You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Revocation & Return Shipping
You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the return shipping costs for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.

It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
