Vintage VDB Timer T Historical Steel 1,200m diving watch
All about the Vintage VDB Timer T Historical Steel 1,200m diving watch
Presence & Character
The case with the striking dimensions of 48 × 57 × 20 mm immediately takes up space on the wrist and conveys a confident presence — not delicate, but deliberately monumental. This size is no coincidence; it tells of a demand for visibility: the watch wants to be seen, it communicates style through proportions and weight. Those seeking a statement will find a design here that stands out from the crowd without resorting to crude showiness.
Material & Surface
Made of polished stainless steel, the case shows a surface that elegantly reflects light while emphasizing everyday practicality. The high-gloss finish gives the timepiece a formal touch, but combined with the deliberately "historically used" dial, it creates an exciting contrast of elegance and vintage-inspired patina. This interplay of polished modernity and traditional character is what makes the watch's visual appeal.
Dial and Aesthetics
The dial is inspired by the "historical used" style: signs of aging, finely textured surfaces, and a design reminiscent of instrumental watches from past decades create depth and atmosphere. Unlike pure retro copies, this dial does not feel replicated but presents the viewer with a carefully staged, timeless patina that reveals new details depending on the light and gives the wearer a sense of history.
Readability & Luminosity
For night and twilight readability, Super-LumiNova is used, which is applied both on the dial and the hands, creating clear contrasts when it gets dark. This luminous material ensures that the watch does not lose its functionality at sunset: in everyday life, the time remains instantly readable at any moment, and the targeted dosing of the luminous area also preserves the aesthetic balance of the overall appearance.
Crown, protection and operation
The screw-down crown with crown guard is more than an optical detail — it increases operational safety and prevents unintentional adjustments. The crown guard adds robustness to the construction, yet the operation remains ergonomic: The screw-down design additionally protects the movement against environmental influences and gives the watch a technical credibility you feel when operating the crown.

Glass & resistance
The installed sapphire crystal ensures a clear, undistorted view of the dial and at the same time offers excellent protection against scratches. Sapphire is a material that demonstrates appreciation for the longevity of the timepiece; it preserves the appearance long-term and helps keep the fine details of the dial intact over years — a tangible quality proof in the construction.
The heart of the watch
Under the hood works the ETA 2824-2, a Swiss automatic movement known for its reliability and service friendliness. This caliber stands for solid timekeeping and a widely available spare parts and maintenance infrastructure, making the watch a sustainable companion not only aesthetically but also technically. Anyone who wants to wear a watch that remains stable over years makes a sensible choice with this movement.
Straps and wearing comfort
The watch is delivered with a strap set of leather and rubber bands, allowing its character to quickly adapt to the occasion: The leather strap lends classic elegance, the rubber strap increases everyday suitability for sports activities or moisture. This combination offers flexibility and shows that the concept is designed not only for appearance but also for practical everyday usability.
Overall impression
The overall impression is that of a watch that confidently balances between traditional instrument look and modern technology: impressive dimensions meet high-quality components and a conscious stylistic reference to history. For enthusiasts who value presence, legibility, and a serviceable Swiss heart, this model represents a convincing liaison of form and function — robust enough for everyday use, distinctive enough for a deliberate statement.

FAQs
About me
My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.
Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.
As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.
So come along on a journey full of watches... off the mainstream... and if you have a question, please feel free to ask me anytime via the form, chat, WhatsApp, email or phone.
I am very much looking forward to meeting you.
PS: My hobbies & passions include the internet (first agency already in 1996), Denmark, France's coasts (Brittany, Normandy & Côte d’Azur), hiking, e-MTB, sales (Bachelor of Sales) and photography.
My Achilles' heel includes children's chocolate, good food, sneakers & of course watches... :-)
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.
The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Cancellation & Return Shipping
You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.
Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
No response received?
You wrote to me via the contact form, through the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you haven't received a reply?
Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and pushing more and more into spam.
I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it can sometimes take a bit longer. As a rule, I respond within a few minutes or hours.
Something can slip past me sometimes too. Or the technology doesn't work as it should. Feel free to write to me again at david@watchdavid.com
Mechanics - Sometimes things can happen there too
Before I ship your order, I carefully check each watch for visible defects.
If a problem should occur, such as damage during transport, please inform me immediately. I will do everything possible to quickly find a solution and ensure that you are satisfied.
My goal is to offer you not only high-quality products but also a first-class shopping experience. I look forward to welcoming you as a satisfied customer!
