All about the Vintage VDB TIMER T HISTORICAL POLISHED
Presence & Character
The case, with its striking dimensions of 48 × 57 × 20 mm, immediately commands space on the wrist and conveys a confident presence—not delicate, but deliberately monumental. This size is no coincidence; it speaks to a demand for visibility: the watch wants to be seen; it communicates style through its proportions and weight. Those seeking a statement piece will find a design that stands out from the crowd without resorting to crude sensationalism.
Material & Finish
Crafted from polished stainless steel, the case features a surface that elegantly reflects light while emphasizing its suitability for everyday wear. The high-gloss finish lends the timepiece a formal touch, yet in combination with the deliberately "historically used" dial, it creates an exciting contrast between elegance and vintage-inspired patina. This interplay of polished modernity and traditional character defines the watch's visual appeal.
Dial and Aesthetics
The dial is inspired by the "historically used" style: traces of aging, finely textured surfaces, and a design reminiscent of instrumental watches from past decades create depth and atmosphere. Unlike mere retro copies, this dial doesn't feel fabricated; instead, it presents the observer with a carefully orchestrated, timeless patina that reveals new details with every change of light, imbuing the wearer with a sense of history.
Legibility & Luminousness
For night and twilight legibility, Super-LumiNova is used, applied to both the dial and the hands, creating clear contrasts when it gets dark. This luminous material ensures that the watch does not lose its functionality at sunset: in everyday life, the time remains readable at a glance, and the targeted dosage of the luminous surface simultaneously maintains the aesthetic balance of the overall appearance.
Crown, Protection, and Operation
The screwed crown with crown guard is more than just a visual detail—it enhances operational safety and prevents accidental adjustments. The crown guard adds robustness to the construction, while operation remains ergonomic: the screw-down design additionally protects the movement from environmental influences and gives the watch a technical credibility that can be felt when operating the crown.

Glass & Resistance
The integrated sapphire crystal provides a clear, unadulterated view of the dial while offering excellent scratch resistance. Sapphire is a material that demonstrates appreciation for the timepiece's longevity; it preserves its appearance in the long term and helps ensure that the fine details of the dial remain intact for years—a tangible proof of quality in its construction.
The Heart of the Watch
Under the hood, the ETA 2824-2, a Swiss automatic movement known for its reliability and ease of service, is at work. This caliber stands for solid rate accuracy and a widespread spare parts and maintenance infrastructure, making the watch a sustainable companion not only aesthetically but also technically. For those who want to wear a watch that remains stable over many years, this movement is a sound choice.
Straps and Wearing Comfort
The watch comes with a strap set including both leather and rubber straps, allowing its character to be quickly adapted to the occasion: the leather strap lends classic elegance, while the rubber strap enhances everyday practicality for sporting activities or moisture. This combination offers flexibility and demonstrates that the concept is designed not only for appearance but also for practical everyday usability.
Overall Impression
The overall impression is that of a watch that confidently bridges the gap between traditional instrument aesthetics and modern technology: impressive dimensions meet high-quality components and a deliberate stylistic reference to history. For enthusiasts who value presence, legibility, and a maintainable Swiss heart, this model represents a compelling fusion of form and function—robust enough for everyday wear, and distinctive enough for a conscious statement.

FAQs
About David from WATCHDAVID
My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.
Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.
WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.
And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.
If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.
You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Revocation & Return Shipping
You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the return shipping costs for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.
To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.

I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.
Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com
