A classic with alarm call: The new Cricket with alarm function

With the latest model of the Cricket series, Vulcain presents a timepiece that combines technical sophistication with distinctive design. The case made of polished 316L stainless steel with a diameter of 36 mm exudes classic restraint, while the curved sapphire crystal gives the design an elegant dynamic. The clear design language finds its completion in a gently curved dial in semi-matte eggshell, subtly enlivened by khaki-colored printed elements and indices coated with white luminous material. The slightly curved surface of the dial ("curve dial") creates a beautiful depth effect and recalls iconic models of past decades – but with a contemporary radiance.

Mechanics with alarm function

At the heart of this watch works the in-house caliber Vulcain Cricket V10 H0 – a finely crafted, mechanical alarm clock with manual winding that impresses doubly: through its technical complexity and its distinctive sound. This movement comprises 165 individual parts, 25 jewels, and is equipped with a double barrel that independently powers both the time display and the alarm mechanism. Thanks to the integrated Exactomatic system, the movement ensures a consistent power transmission, improving precision and stabilizing the rate. With a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour, it achieves a power reserve of 52 hours – the alarm duration is about 20 seconds, enough to gently and stylishly wake even the deepest sleeper.

Detail-loving finishing

Visually, the movement convinces just as much as technically: a fine nickel coating, blued screws, and skeletonized ratchet wheels reveal the attention to detail at first glance. Depending on the version, the case back is either closed and polished or equipped with a sapphire crystal display window through which the elaborately decorated interior can be admired. Particularly striking: the engraved Vulcain logo, which gives the timepiece a touch of artisanal signature and emphasizes the tradition of the manufacture.

Comfort and character

The harmonious case height of 12.8 mm and the slim dimensions of the lug (18x16 mm) ensure a comfortable wearing experience – both on the leather strap and with other options. The classic stainless steel pin buckle completes the look stylishly and fits perfectly into the overall design. The water resistance of 5 ATM also makes the watch suitable for everyday use without compromising its elegant character. The polished silver-colored hands stand out clearly from the dial and, combined with the luminous material, allow for good legibility, even in poor lighting conditions.
