All about the VULCAIN Cricket Classique 39 mm - Black & White/Blue
A Classic with a Wake-Up Call: The New Cricket with Alarm Function
With the latest model in the Cricket series, Vulcain presents a timepiece that combines technical sophistication with a strong character. The polished 316L stainless steel case, with a diameter of 39 mm, exudes classic understatement, while the domed sapphire crystal gives the design an elegant dynamism. The clear design language is perfected by a gently curved, semi-matte black dial, subtly enhanced by white and blue printed elements and indices coated with white luminous material. The slightly curved surface of the dial ("curve dial") creates a beautiful depth effect and is reminiscent of iconic models from past decades – yet with a contemporary appeal.
Mechanical Movement with Alarm Function
At the heart of this watch beats the in-house caliber Vulcain Cricket V10 H0 – a finely constructed, mechanical alarm clock with manual winding, which impresses twice over: with its technical complexity and its unmistakable sound. This movement comprises 165 individual parts, 25 jewels, and is equipped with a double barrel that independently powers both the time display and the alarm mechanism. Thanks to the integrated Exactomatic system, the movement ensures uniform power transmission, which improves precision and stabilizes the rate. With a frequency of 18,000 semi-oscillations per hour, it achieves a power reserve of 52 hours – the alarm duration is approximately 20 seconds, enough to gently and stylishly wake even the deepest sleeper.
Detail-Oriented Refinement
Visually, the movement is as convincing as it is technically: a fine nickel coating, blued screws, and skeletonized click wheels immediately reveal the love for detail. Depending on the version, the case back is either closed and polished or equipped with a sapphire crystal display back, through which the elaborately decorated inner workings can be admired. Particularly striking: the engraved Vulcain logo, which gives the timepiece a touch of artisanal signature and emphasizes the manufacture's tradition.

Comfort and Character
The harmonious case height of 12.8 mm and the narrow dimensions of the lug (18x16 mm) ensure a comfortable fit – both on a leather strap and with other options. The classic stainless steel pin buckle elegantly rounds off the appearance and perfectly complements the overall design. The water resistance of 5 ATM also makes the watch suitable for everyday use without compromising its elegant character. The polished silver-colored hands stand out clearly from the dial and, in conjunction with the luminous material, ensure good readability, even in poor light conditions.
Vulcain – A House with History
The Vulcain manufacture looks back on over 150 years of history – founded in 1858, deeply rooted in Le Locle, Switzerland, one of the most traditional places in watchmaking. Early on, the family business made a name for itself with complex mechanical masterpieces: from minute repeaters to calendar functions. Today, Vulcain is located in a historic villa in the heart of the Neuchâtel mountains – where the finest watchmaking has always been at home.
The brand has made it its mission to preserve and continuously develop its artisanal expertise. The rebirth of the Cricket with an alarm function is an impressive testament to this philosophy. It symbolizes what has always distinguished Vulcain: innovation in the service of tradition – shaped by careful craftsmanship, technical skill, and a keen sense of timeless aesthetics.

FAQs
About David from WATCHDAVID
My name is David, and I've been deeply involved with watches for many years – not just as a dealer, but primarily as a tester, photographer, and classifier.
Since 2018, I’ve been running WATCHDAVID as an independent watch project featuring reviews, videos, and real-world wearing experiences. Many of the watches you'll find here have been on my own wrist – often for extended periods.
WATCHDAVID.SHOP is intentionally personal. I only sell watches that I genuinely stand behind – no anonymous mass-produced goods, no dropshipping, no "quick trends." Experience, transparency, and honest assessment are paramount to me.
And yes: I am not an anonymous seller. I enjoy good food, sneakers, and photography – and I have a proven weakness for Kinder Chocolate.
If you have any questions or are unsure, feel free to contact me directly. I will respond personally.
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, shipping is free of charge. Shipping is handled by DHL and insured up to €500, €2,500 or €25,000, depending on the watch's value. The watches are therefore always sufficiently insured.
You can find the delivery time in the description and/or below the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after an order is placed, while others are brand new and, for example, will only be available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Revocation & Return Shipping
You can revoke your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the return shipping costs for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself; I will send you the free return label.
To do this, please simply contact me. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of any signs of wear. After a successful inspection, I will refund the purchase price to you. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee that all watches I offer are exclusively new, original goods. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly state otherwise (e.g., so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I exclusively offer authentic products. These are offered in their original packaging, with a warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in a so-called Full Set. Some deliver more, some less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which is usually two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
Should a warranty claim arise, I will take care of shipping the watch to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and will also organize its return to you. In addition, I will handle all communication with the manufacturer, so you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I will remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.

You contacted me, via the contact form, about the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you didn't receive a reply?
Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and crazier and are sending more and more to spam.
I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it may take a little longer. As a rule, I reply within a few minutes or hours.
Something can also slip through for me. Or the technology isn't working as it should. Feel free to contact me again. david@watchdavid.com
