Vulcain Skindiver Chronograph Salmon 590176B87.BHM286
All about the Vulcain Skindiver Chronograph Salmon 590176B87.BHM286
An icon returns: The Skindiver Chronograph from Vulcain
In 2023, one of Vulcain's most significant dive watches made its comeback: the Skindiver Nautique. Originally launched in the 1960s, it was already considered a milestone in professional dive watches back then. But few knew that at the same time, a chronograph prototype was also developed – a version that remained hidden for decades. Thanks to the dedicated work of Guillaume Laidet, who has been responsible for Vulcain's collection since 2022, this hidden chapter of the brand's history was brought back to light. The result is an authentic reinterpretation that skillfully combines technology, history, and collector passion.
Limited to 100 pieces, please inquire in advance.
Classic design with contemporary technology
The Skindiver Chronograph is more than a simple reissue – it is a sympathetic fusion of past and present. The stainless steel case measures 39.7 millimeters and impresses with its vertically brushed surface, which provides subtle elegance while emphasizing the robustness of a true diving instrument. Despite the classic look, the model has been technically updated to the latest standards. This includes a bi-directional rotating bezel with a grippy edge, whose black ceramic insert refers to the original designs of the 1960s. The water resistance of up to 200 meters also makes it a reliable companion underwater.
Dial with character and depth
The dial is available in two variants: matte black with brown aged luminous indices or matte silver with clear white SuperLuminova. Both versions offer exceptionally good readability – even in poor lighting conditions. The striking subdials with orange or red accents emphasize the sporty character of the watch and are functionally clearly structured. Particularly eye-catching is the 30-minute counter at three o'clock, which not only convinces visually but also scores with precision in sporty use. An additional highlight is the integrated decimal scale, which allows time measurements in hundredths of a second – a true rarity in watchmaking and a practical tool for demanding divers or athletes.

A look into the heart – decorated movement
Those who look at the back of the watch are greeted by the display case back with its fine engraving of a diver – a subtle but effective symbol of the maritime origin of this timepiece. Behind the glass reveals the finely decorated automatic movement: the ETA 7753, a proven Swiss caliber that impresses with reliability and precision. The bridges are adorned with Geneva stripes, the main plate features a perlage finish, and the rotor appears brushed with an engraved Vulcain logo. With a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of 42 hours, the movement offers everything one expects from a modern chronograph – including a mechanical hand-winding option.
Two versions – One claim
Whether in classic black with vintage flair or in cool silver look with a modern touch: the Skindiver Chronograph remains true to its origins in both versions. For the perfect finish, both leather straps in black or brown as well as a stainless steel bracelet are available. This allows the watch to effortlessly adapt to any life situation – whether on dives, in everyday life, or as a stylish companion on the weekend. With this new edition, Vulcain once again proves that with a sensitive touch for history and a sense for innovation, watches can be created that connect present and past in perfect harmony.

FAQs
About me
My name is David, I was born in the late 60s in NRW, now live and work in the beautiful Harz Mountains, and have been running this watch shop, among other things, since spring 2022.
Since 2018, I have also been running my watch blog watchdavid.de, which features hundreds of reviews and watch news. Since then, I have taken thousands of professional watch photos for over 100 watch brands. Many photos can be found in my reviews. I am known worldwide for this.
As a result, I naturally had thousands of watches in my hands. And with this shop, I want to bring you closer to watches that have convinced me in many ways.
So come along on a journey full of watches... off the mainstream... and if you have a question, please feel free to ask me anytime via the form, chat, WhatsApp, email or phone.
I am very much looking forward to meeting you.
PS: My hobbies & passions include the internet (first agency already in 1996), Denmark, France's coasts (Brittany, Normandy & Côte d’Azur), hiking, e-MTB, sales (Bachelor of Sales) and photography.
My Achilles' heel includes children's chocolate, good food, sneakers & of course watches... :-)
Shipping & Insurance
Within Germany and the EU, I ship free of charge. Shipping is done via DHL and insured up to 500€, 2,500€, or 25,000€, depending on the watch value. The watches are thus always sufficiently insured.
The delivery time can be found in the description and/or under the shopping cart button. Some watches are only produced after ordering, others are brand new and, for example, only available in a few weeks (so-called PRE-SALE), etc...
Cancellation & Return Shipping
You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods.
I will cover the costs for the return shipping for you.
IMPORTANT: Do not send the watch back yourself, I will send you the free return label.
Please simply contact me for this. david@watchdavid.com
It is also important that the watch is unworn and free of signs of use. After successful inspection, I will refund you the purchase price. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Authenticity & Condition of the Watches
I guarantee you that all watches I offer are exclusively new original products. The watches come directly from the manufacturer and have had no previous owners, unless I explicitly point this out (e.g. so-called PHOTO WATCHES).
As an official dealer, I offer you exclusively authentic products. These are offered in the original packaging, with warranty card, etc., just as they are delivered by the dealer. Everything in the so-called full set. One delivers more, another less...
Warranty & Service
All watches purchased from me come with the international manufacturer's warranty, which usually lasts two years. Some brands even offer a warranty of up to 5 years.
If a warranty case occurs, I will take care of the shipping to the manufacturer or the responsible service center for you and also organize the return shipment to you. In addition, I handle all communication with the manufacturer so that you don't have to worry about anything.
Even after the warranty period has expired, I remain your contact person and support you with service questions or repairs.
No response received?
You wrote to me via the contact form, through the price proposal, directly by email, chat, but you haven't received a reply?
Then please check your SPAM folder! Many providers are getting crazier and pushing more and more into spam.
I usually answer every inquiry within 24 hours at the latest. On weekends, it can sometimes take a bit longer. As a rule, I respond within a few minutes or hours.
Something can slip past me sometimes too. Or the technology doesn't work as it should. Feel free to write to me again at david@watchdavid.com
Mechanics - Sometimes things can happen there too
Before I ship your order, I carefully check each watch for visible defects.
If a problem should occur, such as damage during transport, please inform me immediately. I will do everything possible to quickly find a solution and ensure that you are satisfied.
My goal is to offer you not only high-quality products but also a first-class shopping experience. I look forward to welcoming you as a satisfied customer!
