Squale is proud to introduce the 1521 Marina Militare. In65. Year of its existence, Squale is celebrating this important anniversary together with a historic partner, the Italian Navy. It commemorates a long and close relationship and renews the collaboration that began forty years ago with the first collection of watches.

The 1521 Marina Militare is a limited edition of 500 pieces and designed to be a celebratory, historic and high-performance watch. The choice of the 1521 collection is symbolic as the first model delivered to the Navy was a 1521. This legacy continues with the creation of thisfunctional and impressive timepiece.

The story of the 1521

Of the first 1,521 models delivered to the Navy in the 1980s, only very few examples currently exist, one of which is kept in the G.O.S. Museum in La Spezia. The reason for this rarity is that since the watches were delivered to the divers as military instruments, they were returned by the military and destroyed according to protocol.

The characteristics of the 1521

The current 1521 Marina Militare was designed as the most elegant of the 1521 models and underlines its qualities as an impressive watch. The case made of 316L steel has a brushed surface with polished facets, while the black dial has a brossé surface and unique plays of light thanks to the applied indices made of polished steel /strong> generated.

The color orange is the dominant element, an important symbol for both the Navy and Squale. The official Marine logo is orange, as are the iconic minute hands on Squale diving watches, particularly the 1521. At 6 o'clock there is the Marine logo in orange, as well as the minute display on the dial around the Rehaut.

A special design

The design of this diving watch pays homage to Squale's long tradition and its partnership with the Italian Navy. 

On the caseback you can see the logo of the Italian Navy and the serial number 500 of this limited edition. These details give the watch a historical and symbolic value and make it a unique and significant piece

The bracelet

To complete the operational function of this watch, the 1521 Marina Militare is accompanied by a black microfiber strap with orange stitching that is water and submersible resistant. A black natural rubber strap with the Squale logo is also included with the item.
