SWISS EDITION – A Tribute to the Legendary Superman

The Swiss Edition is an authentic reissue of the iconic Superman Ref. 53.00.16 from the 1970s. It combines characteristic design elements of the original with modern watchmaking craftsmanship. The stainless steel case with straight lugs and a water resistance of 990 feet (300 m) remains true to the historical model. Particularly striking is the patented bezel locking mechanism, which ensures the safety of the diver's bezel. The retro design is complemented by an aluminum bezel with a classic 60-minute graduation and a double-domed sapphire crystal, which provides an authentic vintage aesthetic. The overall look is rounded off by the spade-shaped second hand, which has always been the trademark of the Superman. Inside, the reliable Sellita SW200-1 caliber works, while the entire production and assembly takes place in Biel, Switzerland.

Historical Diver's Bezel

The unidirectional 120-click diver's bezel with aluminum insert draws on the design of the original Superman model from the 1970s. Its 0-60 minute scale allows for precise timing during dives. The patented bezel locking mechanism, located at three o'clock, was introduced in 1963 and has since been one of the defining features of the Superman collection.

Iconic dial and hands

Inspired by the original model, the dial of the Swiss Edition presents a classic, vintage-true look. The printed hour markers give the watch a nostalgic charm, while the distinctive arrow minute hand and the unmistakable spade second hand ensure optimal readability. This model is the only modern Superman variant that preserves the historical design almost unchanged, while also being equipped with the technical features of a professional diving watch.

On the back of the watch is the historic YEMA crest, which is incorporated into the stainless steel case using a hydraulic embossing technique. This is followed by a micro-sandblasting process that creates a particularly fine and noble surface structure. This elaborate finish gives the watch an additional exclusivity.

Precise Swiss movement 

The Sellita SW200-1 caliber is known for its exceptional reliability and durability. With 26 ruby bearings, the movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, ensuring particularly precise timekeeping. The power reserve of 38 hours makes the watch suitable for everyday use, while the timekeeping accuracy of -3/+7 seconds per day meets high Swiss standards.

Noble stainless steel bracelet

The bracelet made of 316L stainless steel combines polished and brushed elements, creating a harmonious transition between sporty elegance and timeless style. Thanks to the integrated diver extension, the bracelet can be effortlessly adjusted to a wetsuit, making the watch particularly practical for professional divers.

Both the hour markers, hands, and the bezel marker are coated with high-quality Super-LumiNova Class A. This special luminescent material ensures outstanding readability in low light conditions and guarantees that important displays remain clearly visible even in the deepest darkness.
