The Fieldwatch WALTHAM Field & Marine Dual Time White was developed for the military during World War I because pocket watches were impractical in combat use. It was a transitional model between pocket watches and wristwatches and combined features of both. With the Field & Marine, Waltham invented the first waterproof, dustproof and mustard gas resistant watch. Today, the trench watch is an iconic watch design that combines classic elegance with the practicality of a military watch.

The Design DNA of Field & Marine can be found in the area of ​​the crown and crown protection. This area sets the Field & Marine apart from all other watches. Historically, the bayonet crown, screw-down bezel and compressor caseback ensured water resistance, making the Field & Marine the first waterproof wristwatch ever made. Today the Waltham Field & Marine is the only watch with a bayonet crown.

The power reserve and 24-hour seconds time zone counters are arranged vertically on the dial in abicompax configuration. They allow you to check at any time how many hours the watch can run without winding and to read a second time zone on a 24-hour scale (am/pm).

The Field & Marine bayonet crown was developed based on the original patent issued on January 28, 1919.
